UK: New “Bee-Friend” Smartphone App

Scientists in the UK are hoping citizens will help provide data via this new app re bees & other pollinating insects that visit their home gardens.

It also mentions a store chain that has set up “Bee Hotels” :) at its 109 locations to entice bees to come pollinate nearby plant-life. Cute!

It also says 1-bite out of 3 is from food that requires pollination by these critters.

IPHONE SOLUTION: NISHITA THEME: WHEN LARGE EMAILED-IMAGES DO NOT POST IN MAX 1200 SIZE

While trying four times to email the above LARGE pic (one of my “fun creations”) to a different photo blog that uses WordPress.com’s NISHITA THEME (which allows wide 1200-Max Width for Photos), I discovered WHY it was not working correctly, but was SHRINKING that photo down to 800-Width.

“Four’s the Charm” as the fourth try worked! It is not the theme or WP or your pic. It was IPHONE’s Photo Album’s “SHARE by Email” option causing the problem.

1. DOES NOT WORK – *WILL* SHRINK YOUR PHOTOS: If you checkmark a LARGE photo (1200+ Width) inside iPhone Photo Album & then choose SHARE BY EMAIL option, it WILL SHRINK your photo once it posts at Nishita Theme.

Example: Top pic original is 1600×1195. I wanted it to show up at Nishita Theme 1200xWhatever. Instead, it showed up at 800xWhatever. Tried three times! Grrr.

2. DOES WORK – WILL *NOT* SHRINK YOUR PHOTOS: If you checkmark a LARGE photo (or 2-3-4-5, etc.) from inside Photo Album but choose COPY instead, then EXIT Photo Album & open SAFARI & choose MAIL THIS LINK option, it will NOT SHRINK your photo & it will show up at Nishita Theme in their MAX ALLOWED width, 1200! :D

Using #2 Method above also saves you from opening Mail app. Just erase whatever link the “Mail This Link” option put in the email.

I did not do a test using #2 + Notes App (vs. Safari). Maybe another time.

My iPhone is older so maybe the sizing quirk in Share-via-Email vs. Mail-This-Link does not apply to newer phones, desktops, other type photo albums, etc. etc. Your mileage may vary!

Hope this info helps other Old Birds out there using Older iPhones & Nishita Theme for photo blogs. :)

Funny. Maybe Germany has better faster cheaper web hosting/internet service(?)

Is there any way to tell how long a site has had a certain IP Address? Has WH.gov always had that IP or has it recently switched? That would be my first question.

If it’s a recent switch, might it be another hint that the Snowden-
leaked NSA Internet Spying Scandal is a prelude to something bigger or worse for the USofA?

Rather than a “Bank Holiday,” might they be planning instead an “Internet Holiday”? That would actually make more sense in light of the Snowden Leak. Wouldn’t THAT type of false flag convince everyone how much NSA-Internet-Spying is needed if they were to “flip the switch,” have the internet go dark for a few days, blame some boogeymen cyber-terrorists, then claim they caught the guys thanks to their Already-In-Place Internet-Spying Machine?

Ever since the old days “Snow” has meant “No Reception” on your TV Screen.
